A Business Mentor – Part 1: Why You Should Have One

The internet, business contacts, and industry analysts all great resources to use when you (the business owner) are trying to grow and sustain your business. However, only a business mentor can share with you true wisdom, simply because they’ve been there and done that. This is empowering for the business owner because they learn from the business mentor’s mistakes.

A business mentor is someone with more entrepreneurial business experience than the business owner, the mentee. This person becomes a trusted confidante over an extended period of time, usually free of charge. Most business mentors provide the service free of charge because they feel that this is a way of giving back to their community. Others do it to help cultivate their craft as a teacher, manager, or consultant.
